Caroline Masson will be at the UniCredit ladies German Open presented by Audi taking place at Golfpark Gut Häusern near Munich on 30 May to 2 June.
The native of Gladbeck in Germany, currently at 58th on the Rolex Rankings and number 4 in The 2013 European Solheim Cup team standings, has committed to play in the tournament, which features a prize fund of €350,000.
Masson, who celebrates her 24th birthday on May 14 (today), will appear in the LET’s only tournament in Germany for the fourth straight year of her professional career.
“Yes, I will be in Munich,” said Masson. “The DGV, the DGS as organiser of the UniCredit ladies German open presented by Audi, the LET and above all the German hosts of The 2015 Solheim Cup have endeavoured to bring The Cup to my home and for that reason I am delighted to come to Germany.“
Masson has played in seven tournaments as a rookie on the LPGA Tour in the USA this season, where she is ranked 59th on the official money list with two top 20 finishes and five missed cuts so far.
On the LET, she is ranked 100th on the ISPS Handa Order of Merit after three starts, including a tie for 19th in New Zealand and two missed cuts in Australia.
“It is a huge effort to change continents, because immediately after Germany, I will return to the States for the Wegmans LPGA Championship,” she said. “However, I am pleased to represent Germany at home and will, as always, give my best.”
In her first year as a professional golfer in 2010, Masson was within striking distance of the top three places going into the weekend but ended in a share of 14th position. In 2011, she was the best German player in a tie for fourth place. She then tied for 15th in 2012 which was her most successful year on the LET when she claimed her maiden title at the South African Women’s Open and ended second on the ISPS Handa Order of Merit.
Prior to this, she played in the inaugural tournament in 2008 as an amateur and tied for 30th position. Her only wish is that: “The organisers will again provide good weather, as I will be coming from the Bahamas!”
Golf fans can enjoy the first two rounds of the UniCredit Ladies German presented by Audi free of charge, while entrance on Saturday and Sunday costs only 10 and 15 euro respectively if booked online in advance.

• 126 players, including 115 professionals and 11 invited players, will play 72 holes of strokeplay over four rounds
• There will be a cut to the leading 60 professionals and those tied for 60th place after two rounds
• In addition to the winner’s cheque for €52,500, the winner will take home an Audi Q5 SUV
• Last year’s winner, Anne-Lise Caudal, who won in a play-off, won an Audi A5 convertible
• Italian Diana Luna won the tournament in 2011 after playing 4 rounds without a bogey
• Once again, there will be an Audi R8 Spyder worth more than €160,000 as “hole-in-one” prize on hole 15
• There will be four former event champions in the tournament: Caudal (2012), Luna (2011), Laura Davies (2010) (who also lost in a play-off in 2012) and Jade Schaeffer (2009)
• The top ranked LET player in the field is Carlota Ciganda (2nd on LET ISPS Handa Order of Merit and 24th on the Rolex Rankings), followed by the winner of the Turkish Airlines Ladies Open, Lee-Anne Pace (5th).
