- Three-time LET winner to support captain Anne van Dam in the Netherlands
- The pair link up again having played together at the 2013 PING Junior Solheim Cup and 2019 Solheim Cup
English star and three-time Ladies European Tour (LET) winner Bronte Law has today been named vice-captain of the European team for the 2026 PING Junior Solheim Cup. The 30-year-old will support close friend and captain Anne van Dam when the competition heads to the Netherlands for the very first time.
The appointment signals the latest chapter between Law and van Dam who represented Europe together at both the 2013 PING Junior Solheim Cup and 2019 Solheim Cup – the latter where they were part of the winning team in Scotland.
“It’s such a huge honour to be named vice-captain of the European team for the 2026 PING Junior Solheim Cup”, said Law. “To be alongside Anne, a close friend and someone I’ve shared incredible memories with both the Junior Solheim Cup and in celebrating Europe’s victory at Gleneagles in 2019, makes it even more special.”
Law is no stranger to team competitions on the amateur stage having represented Great Britain & Ireland at three Curtis Cups (2012, 2014, 2016). In-between these appearances, the Englishwoman also competed at the 2013 PING Junior Solheim Cup alongside the likes of van Dam, Georgia Hall and Emily Kristine Pedersen.
Van Dam added: “I’m so happy to have Bronte as vice-captain. We’ve shared so many special moments together in the Solheim Cup, and I know how much passion and experience she’ll bring to the team. She’s an incredible role model for young players, and having her by my side in the Netherlands will mean so much – not just to me, but to every player representing Europe.”
Since turning professional, Law has had an illustrious career winning three times on the LET and once on the LPGA Tour. In 2019, Law earned a captain’s pick for the European Solheim Cup team where she earned two points as her side reclaimed the famous trophy.
Aside from her own success, Law is also a strong advocate for girls’ golf in England having launched the Bronte Law Junior Series in 2024. The competition is open to all girls eligible to play for England, with the aim of increasing younger players’ competitive experiences that are WAGR (World Amateur Golf Rankings)-ranked.
Law continued: “Since launching the Junior Series last year, encouraging more young girls to take up the game has been something very close to me. I’m so excited to help inspire the next generation when we bring this event to the Netherlands for the very first time.”
Acting as the perfect prelude to the Solheim Cup, the 2026 PING Junior Solheim Cup will take place between 7-8 September at Bernardus Golf in Den Bosch, Netherlands.
The Championship course will stage the two-day competition at the beginning of the Solheim Cup week. The decision marks the first time in history that the same course has hosted both the PING Junior Solheim Cup and Solheim Cup.
Twelve of Europe’s brightest young female golfers aged 18 and under will be vying to win the trophy back against the USA a few days before the main event in the Netherlands.
USA stormed to a record-breaking victory last time out defeating Europe by 18.5 points to 5.5 in Arlington, Virginia.
The European team will be made up of the leading six players from the PING Junior Solheim Cup Rankings – who will earn automatic selection – and six captain’s picks made by van Dam with the aid of Law.
Another PING Junior Solheim Cup alumni, Morgan Pressel, will captain the American side on away soil. Like the European duo, Pressel has competed at both the PING Junior Solheim Cup (2002, 2005) and Solheim Cup (2007, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015, 2019).
