BRIEM HAPPY WITH LONG GAME AFTER PIF SAUDI LADIES INTERNATIONAL

Helen Briem

Helen Briem had a strong end to 2025 securing her LPGA Tour card as the winner of Q-Series in December.

After taking a break to go skiing, the German quickly got back to work and prepare for the 2026 season.

At the season-opening PIF Saudi Ladies International on the Ladies European Tour (LET), Briem secured a top-15 finish.

The LET winner produced rounds of 68-70-70-66 to end the week in a share of 12th place on 14-under-par.

Briem put in the work over the winter break to make sure that her long game was more consistent, but knows she still has some work to do on her putting.

“Finishing -14 for the tournament is a good start to the season,” she said. “My long game is definitely there, the putting was today as well. Unfortunately, the last couple of days it wasn’t. I will definitely take that start to the year.

“I took one and half weeks off after Q-Series when we went skiing. I started my prep for this season. I focused on the long game to make it more consistent.

“Putting in Germany in the winter is quite difficult, I think I had a good pre-season, and I still have two and a half weeks to work on my game before the next tournament. I’m looking forward to the next event.”

With playing rights on both the LET and LPGA Tour in 2026, Briem will be balancing her schedule.

The 2024 La Sella Open winner is going to play it by ear in terms of which tournaments she plays for the rest of the season.

She added: “I have both cards, I can play on both Tours. We’re going to look at it event by event and will decide what we play. There are a couple of options depending on how it goes and we will see what happens.”
