Kelsey Bennett began her 2026 Ladies European Tour (LET) season with a T12 finish at the PIF Saudi Ladies International.
It was her first time playing at Riyadh Golf Club and the Australian produced rounds of 73-66-69-66 to finish with a score of 14-under-par.
Bennett, who played a couple of events in Australia before teeing it up on the LET, was pleased to have played competitive golf before the first event of the season.
“I’m absolutely stoked, it’s a big prize money field so it definitely helps to set yourself up for the year,” she said. “I’m happy with the way I played and hopefully, I can keep it going in Aus.
“The Vic Open was quite a big event and I had Lydia Hall there, so that was quite good to play against another LET player and have that level of competition.
“Especially the second week was against the men, and you know the scoring will always be really low. I think it’s a massive benefit and weather-wise gets me a bit more on temperature than being in Europe.”
The LET now heads Down Under for a four-week stretch of tournaments starting with the Ford Women’s NSW Open at Wollongong.
It’s an event Bennett is especially looking forward to, as it’s close to home for the 26-year-old.
She added: “It will be pretty exciting to have everyone there. Wollongong is not far from home, so hopefully I will go and have a bit of a hit out there next week and get prepared to that grass because it’s very different to anywhere else you play. I will be doing some prep this week.”
