After a memorable month Down Under, the Ladies European Tour (LET) is in Queensland this week for the fourth and final stop of the circuit’s 2026 Aussie swing, the Australian WPGA Championship.
Sanctuary Cove Golf & Country Club is on hosting duties a year on from the tournament being cancelled in 2025 due to Cyclone Alfred.
The par-71 Arnold Palmer designed Palms course, flooded with kangaroos, offers a world-class golfing experience complemented by exceptional facilities that extend beyond the manicured greens.
This year’s 72-hole tournament, co-sanctioned with the WPGA of Australasia, takes place between March 19-22 and offers a purse AU$600,000.
A field of 132 players will tee up in the fifth event of the LET’s 2026 global schedule – a number divided into 79 LET players, 36 WPGA players and 17 invites. This figure also features 37 nationalities, 31 Australians, 15 rookies and 22 LET winners.
This year’s staging of the tournament marks its second edition with previous winner Su Oh (2024) in the field once again.
All three winners from this year’s Australian swing are in Queensland, with France’s Agathe Laisne (Ford Women’s NSW Open) – now leading the Order of Merit – plus Australian duo Kelsey Bennett (Australian Women’s Classic) and Hannah Green (Women’s Australian Open) teeing up.
The latter, Major winner Green, is the highest ranked player in the field having to risen to World No 7 in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings following last week’s heroics on home soil.
Fellow LPGA stars Steph Kyriacou and Cassie Porter also tee up at Sanctuary Cove. Porter arrives in Queensland off the back of a sensational course record 62 (-10) on Sunday at her home event.
Elsewhere, Order of Merit winner Shannon Tan is in town for the second week in a row. The Singaporean is joined by fellow 2026 LET winners Darcey Harry from Wales, Casandra Alexander from South Africa, Alice Hewson from England and Anna Huang from Canada.
Rookies are plentiful in Australia with 15 first year graduates teeing up. This includes English duo Caley McGinty and Charlotte Heath who sit first and second in the Rookie of the Year rankings.
The full breakdown of entrants can be found here.
Fans around the world will be able to watch the final two rounds of the Australian WPGA Championship via their national broadcaster on the LET website and YouTube channel.
