Annika shares her passion at ANNIKA Invitational Europe

The final round of the sixth-annual ANNIKA Invitational Europe is under way at Halmstad Golf Club in Sweden today, which was host to The 2007 Solheim Cup. The field includes 78 of the best European girls including defending champion Beatrice Wallin.

The tournament is the third to last qualification event for The 2017 PING Junior Solheim Cup. The team match play event features 12 of Europe’s top amateur girls aged 12-18, who play against their counterparts from the United States and serves as a stepping stone to future play in The Solheim Cup.

Annika, who is this year’s European Solheim Cup team captain, has designed a full programme of activities for the players in the ANNIKA Invitational Europe, in line with her ‘more than golf’ mantra, which links with the LET’s ‘more than a tour’ strategy.

Annika said: “It’s always so much fun for me to meet the girls and share my insights into the game of golf and life in general.”

The activities included golf clinics and seminars from the former world number one. In addition, the 2017 PING Junior Solheim Cup Captain and victorious Solheim Cup captain Alison Nicholas was on hand to share her wisdom and experiences.

On Wednesday, June 21, the evening ended with the participating juniors joining Annika and Alison in making their own traditional Swedish midsummer crown of flowers. Midsummer is a yearly tradition in Sweden and the second most celebrated national holiday after Christmas.
