After an amazing year in 2003 for the World number one female golfer Annika Sorenstam, 2004 has had a promising start, too.
The 33-year-old Swede was named the winner of the Jerring prize in her homeland, an honour bestowed to Sweden’s athlete of the year.
The Jerring prize is decided purely by telephone vote and is one of the most prestigious awards in Sweden.
