The 2017 European Solheim Cup Captain Annika Sorenstam and Vice-Captain Marta Figueras-Dotti attended the Barcelona vs Juventus Champions League Quarter-final at the Nou Camp on the eve of the Estrella Damm Mediterranean Ladies Open.
Marta said: “It was an awesome evening. Estrella Damm invited us and it was the first time that Annika and Mike attended a soccer game. We had incredible seats, right behind the players. It was intense, fun and just a great experience to live and share together.”
Most of the golfers in the tournament made sure that they were near a screen to watch the match, but Annika was thrilled to attend in person with her husband Mike and Marta.
She said: “We had a wonderful time last night at the Champions League matchup of Barcelona against Juventus. It was nice of Marta and Estrella Damm to host us. Our seats and the hospitality were spectacular, as was the environment at the stadium. It’s too bad Barcelona didn’t score any goals, but we had fun.”
Juventus progressed to the Semi-final after preventing Barca from scoring as the hosts were trailing 3-0 from the first leg.
