2024 SOLHEIM CUP 100 DAYS OUT

Solheim Cup

By the LPGA

We are officially 100 days away from the 19th playing of the Solheim Cup, which begins on September 13 at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Va. With the qualification period starting to wind down, things are heating up for those vying for one of the coveted 12 spots available on both the U.S. and European teams, and many players are fighting tooth and nail for an opportunity to represent their country in one of the biggest events in women’s golf.

On the U.S. side, Nelly Korda still leads the pack of hopefuls with 2,604 points after collecting six LPGA Tour victories in 2024, and Lilia Vu and Allisen Corpuz, who both became first-time major winners in 2023, are in second and third, respectively.

A pair of T3 finishes from Ally Ewing and Andrea Lee at the U.S. Women’s Open presented by Ally shook things up in the top five, as Ewing, who was ranked sixth entering the week at Lancaster Country Club, moved into fourth with 1,137.50 points and Lee went from seventh to fifth in the standings with 1,121 points.

Megan Khang and Rose Zhang round out the seven current automatic qualifiers, and Alison Lee and Angel Yin are both eligible for the team at the moment based on their positions in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings. Three captain’s picks made by U.S. Captain Stacy Lewis will complete the American squad.

Charley Hull leads the point standings after earning three T3 or better finishes on the Ladies European Tour this season. Hull tied for third at the Aramco Ladies International in February and then earned a pair of runner-up results at the Aramco Team Series – Tampa in March and Aramco Team Series – Korea in May.

Currently second in the rankings is 2024 LPGA Tour rookie Alexandra Forsterling with 144.75 points. The 24-year-old Germany native has won twice on the LET this season, capturing her third career title at the Aramco Team Series – Tampa and then winning again in her home country last month at the Amundi German Masters. She has earned two additional top-15 finishes as well, tying for eighth at the Magical Kenya Ladies Open and then tying for 12th at the Aramco Ladies International.
