2023 SOLHEIM CUP SPOTLIGHT: GEORGIA HALL

Georgia Hall

The Solheim Cup is a highlight for many players and Georgia Hall is no exception as she prepares to play in the competition for the fourth time.

England’s Hall has been part of every time since 2017 and has been on the winning side for the last two editions.

And the biennial content, which is taking place at Finca Cortesin next week, is something that the two-time LET winner enjoys.

“I always look forward to the Solheim Cup,” she said. “It’s definitely one of the highlights of a player’s career and it’s a really busy week, but I’m excited to hopefully win for the third time in a row.”

Hall has been an ever-present in the team in recent years and has accumulated 7.5 points from the 13 matches she has played.

That includes an incredibly successful partnership with France’s Celine Boutier – the duo are undefeated in the competition – and the 27-year-old is hoping Pettersen puts them together again.

She explained: “I would 100% want to play with Celine in foursomes, there’s no one else I’d like to play with!

“Me and her are unbeaten, there’s no reason why we shouldn’t play together again. I love her as a person and I think our games gel together great, so hopefully I get her for foursomes and fourball, but if not especially foursomes.”

And despite having never played at Finca Cortesin, Hall is certain she will enjoy the week ahead with the European Team.

She added: “I have never seen the course, but I’ve heard it’s in pristine condition and the hotel is one of the best in Europe.

“It’s probably the most enjoyable week I have. You get to be so much closer with other players and its memories that will last for a lifetime.”
