Lacoste Ladies Open de France 2017: Stars line up for Chantaco

  • The Lacoste Ladies Open de France will be played at Golf de Chantaco in Saint-Jean-de-Luz, Aquitaine, for the sixth consecutive year, on October 5-8, 2017
  • Recent United States Solheim Cup winner, Cristie Kerr, will return to make a second appearance in the tournament
  • Five former champions, Beth Allen, Céline Herbin, Azahara Muñoz, Felicity Johnson and Trish Johnson, are also in the field

Defending champion Beth Allen, 2015 champion Céline Herbin, two-time champion Azahara Muñoz (2012 and 2013), Felicity Johnson (2011) and three-time winner Trish Johnson (2010, 1999 and 1996) will be joined by victorious 2017 United States Solheim Cup team member Cristie Kerr in the 27th edition of the Lacoste Ladies Open de France on October 5-8.

Kerr will return to Golf de Chantaco two years after her debut appearance in the event, when she finished seventh and the 39-year-old from Miami is also keen to build on her 19 career wins, which include two major championships (U.S. Open 2007, LPGA Championship 2010) and her more than $15 million in career earnings.

She will also be playing in the tournament just seven weeks after starring the 15th Solheim Cup at Des Moines in Iowa, where she had the best record of any American player, winning 3 ½ points with a 3-0-1 win-loss-draw record.

It was a week that rewrote the record books for the American, who will turn 40 on 12th October. With a total of 20 Solheim Cup points, Kerr passed USA Captain Juli Inkster at 18.5 for the most points in USA Solheim Cup history and she also now has the most match wins in USA history with 17, passing Inkster’s 15.

European Solheim Cup team members Florentyna Parker and Georgia Hall are also expected to feature strongly in the 27th edition of the Lacoste Ladies Open de France, as are the nine-strong French contingent.

Those hoping to follow in the footsteps of Herbin by winning on home soil include Gwladys Nocera, Isabelle Boineau, Alexandra Vilatte-Farret, Jade Schaeffer-Calmels, Valentine Derrey, Justine Dreher, Sophie Giquel-Bettan and Anne-Lise Caudal.
