Gal set to inspire at home course

Olympic golf and Solheim Cup star Sandra Gal will tee up on her home course at Golf Club Hubbelrath in Düsseldorf when the ISPS HANDA Ladies European Masters gets under way from Thursday.

The two-time European Solheim Cup player, who tied for 25th when she represented Germany in the recent women’s Olympic golf competition in Rio, will be one of 144 players in the field who are ready to inspire locals with their impressive skills and talents.

The 6’0” tall 31-year-old, who enjoys painting, design, dancing, wakeboarding, violin and modelling, has been a professional golfer since 2007 and claimed her maiden title at the 2011 Kia Classic on the LPGA but has yet to win on the Ladies European Tour.

Her previous best finish in the ISPS HANDA Ladies European Masters was tied fourth in 2013 at Buckinghamshire Golf Club in England. Her best finish of 2016 is also a tie for fourth, recorded at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship presented by P&G in June.
