LET Rookies Take Media Training

Ahead of the Tipsport Golf Masters in the Czech Republic, all of the participating LET Rookies attended a media and communication training workshop presented by golf commentator and sports broadcaster Richard Kaufman.

The interactive training session included advice on what to do and what not to do when facing the media, fans, sponsors and when speaking publicly, including how to deliver and present a powerful message using individual character, experience and communication skills.

Spanish Rookie Nuria Iturrios, ranked third on the LET Order of Merit following her maiden victory at the Lalla Meryem Cup in Morocco, felt that the training was extremely helpful.

The 20-year-old from Mallorca commented: “When I won in Morocco, I faced a lot of media and generally I am very confident, however this guidance was very useful in helping to ensure that the correct message is delivered and presented in a powerful way.  I know that my English is limited so I am taking English lessons at home to improve and this media training will give me more confidence in the future.”

The media training formed part of the Ladies European Tour’s ‘LET’s Get Ready strategy’, which is designed to support new players joining the tour for the first time by organising educational workshops that will help give them a good start on the LET and complemented the four day Rookie Orientation workshops which took place in Spain in January.
