Watch the press conference as the Ladies European Tour (LET) officially announced Annika Sörenstam as the captain of the 2017 European Solheim Cup team on Wednesday March 30th.
The new captain was joined by Ivan Khodabakhsh (Chief Executive, Ladies European Tour) and John Solheim (Chairman & CEO of PING) during the announcement hosted on the eve of the ANA Inspiration tournament.
The 2015 Solheim Cup in Germany took the event to a new level with 1.5 billion social media impressions, 2151 broadcast hours and a record attendance of nearly 30,000 on the last day. The 2017 Solheim Cup will be hosted at the Des Moines Golf and Country Club (August 14 – 20) and is among one of the most innovative clubs in the Midwest. It is anticipated to host one of the most highly attended and best ever Solheim Cup competitions yet.
