Three share lead at Evian

Lincicome – late drama

Lincicome, who won her second career victory at the Ginn Open on the LPGA in April, birdied the final hole of the day to tie for the lead going into the second day’s play at the Evian Royal Resort course.

The 21-year-old was within five inches of an albatross on the ninth hole following an excellent approach shot that fell just shot of the pin.Afterwards, she admitted it took her a while to get into her game.

“It kind of started a little slow then I finally made a couple birdies,” she said. “Than I made an eagle and I was like ‘okay’.

“I was trying to get it to about six (under-par) so that if anybody got a seven I would still be kind of close.”

Hurst and Ji were the clubhouse leaders at lunchtime, after posting early rounds of 66. The pair, fourth out on the course at the start of the day, arrived at the 18th tee just one shot apart.

Ji looked set to return to the clubhouse as solitary leader, and birdied the final hole to finish at six-under-par.
