The ISPS HANDA Ladies European Masters at Buckinghamshire Golf Club will be the only opportunity to see the top tour players perform in England this summer. The stars to watch include:
Charley Hull
After her memorable Solheim Cup debut in 2013 and her maiden win in Morocco last year, Hull became the youngest ever winner of the Ladies European Tour (LET) order of merit in 2014. The 18-year-old from Kettering in Northamptonshire is expected to make another star turn at this year’s ISPS HANDA Ladies European Masters ahead of a second appearance on the European Solheim Cup team.
Dame Laura Davies
The recently appointed Dame, soon to be inducted into the World Hall of Fame, is a constant star attraction – especially on home soil. With more than 80 titles worldwide, the long-hitting four time major champion is always a threat when her putting is on. The only player to have competed in 12 Solheim Cups and the holder of several records, Davies is on a mission to qualify again.
Gwladys Nocera
The three-time Solheim Cup player from France came agonisingly close to qualifying for a fourth appearance on the European team in 2013. After claiming her 13th LET title in India in late 2014 and finishing second on the order of merit, she is in terrific form heading to the Buckinghamshire.
Trish Johnson
The eight-time Solheim Cup player made history by becoming the oldest winner on the LET after clinching the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open aged 48 last summer. With 22 tour wins including three in America, Johnson’s career is the envy of many an LET player.
Holly Clyburn
Having won her first title in the Netherlands in her rookie year in 2013, Holly just missed out on a Solheim Cup spot last time round but the Lincolnshire 24-year-old began 2015 in impressive fashion taking the New South Wales Open on the Australian tour.
Amy Boulden
After her fantastic finish to 2015, when she was the Ladies European Tour’s Rookie of the Year, the 21-year-old from Llandudno in North Wales has continued to shine. It won’t take much for this former Curtis Cup winner to catch the attention of the Solheim Cup captain.
Florentyna Parker
Having prevailed in last year’s Italian Open, where she memorably recorded an albatross in the final round, the 25-year-old Englishwoman has continued to post strong results and must have a serious chance of a Solheim Cup debut when the event is played near her Hamburg home.
