Play suspended at 12:13 with 16-year-old poised to make history in Thailand

Final round play at the Ladies European Thailand Championship was suspended at 12:13 due to the threat of lightening in the area.  Practice facilities will remain closed until further notice.

The tournament leader, Atthaya Thitikul, 16, was standing over a 12-foot birdie putt on the fourth green when the horn was sounded.

She started the day with an eight-stroke lead over Esther Henseleit and the pair teed off in searing heat under the blazing sunshine.

All three players in the last group, including Olivia Cowan, made pars on the first hole but there was a two-shot swing on the par-5 second after Henseleit hit the green in two and holed a nine-foot putt for eagle to move within six strokes of the leader. Thitikul found the rough from the tee and layed up, before missing a 10-footer for birdie.

The three-ball all made regulation pars on the third, as dark clouds moved closer to the course.
