Wessberg and Perrot win FBM Ladies Open Pro-Am

LET professional Linda Wessberg and amateur Biblo Perrot won the team Pro-Am which was played concurrently alongside the professional tournament during the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Open.

With rounds of 67, 62 and 64, the pair combined for a 54-hole better ball score of 23-under-par 193 and finished one stroke ahead of fellow Swede Caroline Hedwall and her amateur partner Adam Grundy. Anne Van Dam and Sara Engsig were third on 17-under-par.

Wessberg described herself as the perfect team player, as she also won a gold medal in the European Team Golf Championships with Cajsa Persson at Gleneagles in July.

This was Abu Dhabi’s third hosting of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Open (FBM Ladies Open), the first ever women’s professional golf tournament staged in the emirate, which had a new format in 2019.

Under the new format, 56 professional golfers joined forces with 56 amateurs to form team pairings. While all teams competed on day one and day two of the tournament, day three saw only the top 15 teams advance for their chance to secure a podium finish.
