BJORN AND SORENSTAM ATTEND ROLEX ANNIKA MAJOR AWARDS

The major champions of 2018 were celebrated at the Rolex ANNIKA Major Awards evening at the Hotel Royale in the Evian Resort on Saturday evening in the presence of Annika, the 2017 European Solheim Cup team captain and the 2018 Ryder Cup captain, Thomas Bjorn.

The Rolex ANNIKA Major Award will recognise the player who has the most outstanding record in all five major championships throughout the season. Points are awarded at all five major championships to competitors who finish among the top-10 and ties. To take home the award, a player must also win at least one of the five majors.

The 2018 recipient will be determined following Sunday’s final round – the scenarios for the players in the top six in the standings based on their Evian Championship result are below.

A win by any of the players who have already won major championships in 2018 would guarantee the award. The tiebreaker for the award is a player’s next best finish in a major.

Ariya Jutanugarn has the best chance to win the award based on the current points standings and with a top-10 finish at the final major of the year. She is the only player who can finish outside of the top 10 and still have a chance to win. With her missed cut this week, Sung Hyun Park will not have a chance to win the award.
