Hall starts LPGA career strongly

Ladies European Tour No.1 Georgia Hall tied for 13th in her first start as an LPGA Tour member at the ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open in Adelaide.

The 21-year-old from Dorset, England, fired rounds of 75, 71, 70 and 67 for a total of five-under-par at Kooyonga Golf Club.

She said: “I played better every day. I played really good golf today, well pretty faultless.  My putts weren’t quite going in, some of them, but I’m really pleased with the way I played this week.

“I hit loads of putts from six and eight foot and they weren’t going in. I think I could have been about 10 (under today) to be honest. I don’t think I made bogey and I don’t think I missed a green or fairway to be honest, very rarely anyway. Just the way it is.   A bit of rain came midway my round and I managed it.

“I think the second part of last year there was a bit of pressure on me but this year I feel fine. I’m planning to have a lot of years on tour and you can’t take tournaments that seriously, you’ve just got to kind of go with it and see what happens.”

She added that her goal for 2018 is to be the LPGA Rookie of the Year and to finish well in the majors.
