Sarah Bennett & Three Rivers join in Essex Golf Week

Sarah Bennett PGA Head Teaching Professional from Three Rivers Golf & Country Club is backing Essex Golf Week by hosting a FREE Ladies’ activity to support the drive to encourage more people to Get into golf.

The week takes place from April 22-28 and is part of a festival of Get into golf activities across the Eastern counties. Three Rivers Golf Club is participating by hosting a Free Ladies’ Golf taster day which will take place on Sunday 28th April with all equipment supplied. The golf lesson will be delivered by Sarah Bennett, a former Ladies European Tour player and the current Essex county girls and ladies’ coach holding a number of highly sought after coaching accreditations and is one of the most experienced Lady Professionals in Essex, coaching youngsters from 5 years of age through to Elite amateurs and Professionals.

Sarah says “Golf is a wonderful inclusive game for everyone who enjoys friendship, fresh air and exercise and I am looking forward to welcoming newcomers to the game. Three Rivers is the perfect venue for the new golfer which boasts excellent practice facilities and two superb golf courses, and the friendliness of the club and food is second to none.

“I have held  number of “starter” events over the past few years giving those new player’s a chance to try the game, in many cases the player is pleasantly surprised how much they have enjoyed the experience and would like to continue with their newly discovered sport. I offer a selection of affordable and quality on- going activities to accommodate everyone’s requirements”.

Essex Golf Week is part of the national Get into golf campaign to encourage more people to play the game. The week is run by the Essex Golf Partnership, on which Sarah was a PGA representative for over three years and now sits on the WPGA committee. The partnership works to grow the game, with the golf week taking place just after the US Masters Championship, when interest in the sport will be on the upswing.

Helen Tarttelin the Essex County development officer, said: “We’re very excited about Golf Week because we have so much to offer the beginner golfer. Golf clubs and driving ranges across the county are passionate about helping new golfers to get into the game.

“Playing golf can bring impressive health and wellbeing benefits and it’s the perfect sport for bringing people together. There’s never been a better time to start.”
