Ojaswini Saraswat made history during the second round of the 2026 Hero Women’s Indian Open becoming the youngest player to make the cut at the tournament.
After an opening round of 79 (+7) at DLF Golf & Country Club, the 13-year-old improved her score by 10 shots on day two.
The Indian amateur fired the joint best round of the day with a 69 (-3), which included seven birdies to climb up the leaderboard and make the cut.
Saraswat becomes the youngest ever to make the cut at Hero Women’s Indian Open beating the record set by Aditi Ashok, who made the cut as a 14-year-old in 2012.
At the age of 13 years, six months and 14 days old, Saraswat also becomes the second youngest player to ever make the cut at any Ladies European Tour (LET) event – behind Thailand’s Ariya Jutanugarn.
“I feel great actually,” said Saraswat. “After yesterday’s round, I just wanted to play good today because I got to know what mistakes I made. I had a lot of support from my parents and my brother and my caddie, and of course my sponsors. Playing this tournament made me really excited because last year I watched this tournament.
“I just wanted to make some birdies because it was really important to do that. I knew the cut would be around there, and I played yesterday seven-over yesterday, so I just wanted to make up for that score. I knew that I made all the mistakes yesterday.
“I started golf when I was and I used to go the Mohali Golf Range. It was just in front of my house, so I thought let’s give it a try. I was really fascinated by trophies. I really like trophies and playing on the course is always amazing. Playing at DLF is one of my biggest dreams. I have a really good support system, and my school is really good with academics, so I get to play a lot more.

“I really look up to Pranavi Urs and Aditi Ashok. I was really excited and nervous at the same time because a golf medallist and me, there’s a huge difference. I just wanted to make the cut. I wasn’t really thinking about it, but it was in the back of my mind.”
Saraswat sits in a share of 26th place on four-over-par heading into the weekend at DLF Golf & Country Club.
