MACLAREN OFF TO A SOLID START AT DUTCH LADIES OPEN

Meghan MacLaren

England’s Meghan MacLaren opened with a 69 (-3) during the first round of the 2026 Dutch Ladies Open held at Goyer Golf & Country Club.

The three-time LET winner began her day with three birdies on the trot on holes two, three and four in The Netherlands.

Her only blemish of the round was a double bogey on the par-5 seventh holes, however, she bounced back from that error.

MacLaren rolled in birdies on the 15th and 17th holes to seal her round of three-under and be in a share of fifth place on the leaderboard.

“I started off really nicely, I was feeling quite confident going into today,” she said. “My prep has been really good, but then you never know what it’s like whenever you actually start, you’re a little bit more uncomfortable, but I rolled in a couple of nice putts early.

“I felt good and then that one hole came out of nowhere, but I hit the ball really nicely after that. I could have made a few more birdies to be honest, but I was pleased that I didn’t let one hole unsettle me too much and I hit a lot of good shots after that.

“Mentally, you just can’t switch off at all. If you let something unsettle you, you’ll make another mistake very quickly and then before you know it, it can get away from you.

“I was confident coming into this week and I’ve been playing well and just making the odd mistakes, so this week was about keeping mentally engaged for the whole round, which is harder than it sounds sometimes. I’m pleased I did that.”
