ANGURASARANEE CARDS ACE IN AUS EN ROUTE TO STUNNING 62

April Angurasaranee won’t be forgetting Saturday at the Ford Women’s NSW Open in a hurry after the Thai star made a hole-in-one en route to firing her lowest ever round of golf.

On a chaotic round three at Wollongong Golf Club – one which required a shotgun start following two suspensions earlier in the week – Angurasaranee read the low scoring script carding eight birdies and an ace to soar into contention.

The 21-year-old’s magic moment came at the par-3 12th, her fourth hole of the day, as she holed out with a five-iron for the second hole-in-one of the 2026 season (Carlota Ciganda made the first at the PIF Saudi Ladies International).

“I think it was like 170-ish yards,” Angurasaranee explained. “A bit into the wind, I had five-iron and it just pitched and then went in. It will be my third ever hole-in-one, second in tournament. So yeah, pretty cool.

“I guess with this week being quite hectic, my mentality for the week is just go with the flow. Whatever comes, just flow with it. And today I started out really well. I mean, obviously having a hole-in-one beginning of the round, but everything just seems to be in the rhythm and be in the flow. And I think my playing partners also had quite a good day. So the momentum of the group was quite nice. Yeah. So that just kept it going.”

The incredible moment kickstarted a memorable round for Angurasaranee as she went on to tie Mimi Rhodes’ record breaking round from 2025.

It follows what has been an eventful fortnight for Angurasaranee who tee’d up on the LPGA Tour last week in her native Thailand. There, the 21-year-old produced a fine display finishing T24 as compatriot Jeeno Thitkul claimed victory.

“It was obviously huge,” Angurasaranee said. “[It’s given me] lots of confidence. It’s kind of like an Asian major, the top like 60 players in the world. And to be playing and to finish really well, it gives me really good confidence coming into the LET. And obviously playing today gives me even more confidence. So just hopefully keep that momentum going for the rest of the swing and the rest of the year.”

Angurasaranee now sits two shots behind leader Hannah Reeves heading into the final round at Wollongong Golf Club. She will be chasing a maiden win on the Ladies European Tour (LET) among a bunch leaderboard on Sunday.

On the task ahead, the Thai star said, “I’m very excited. Hopefully I can do the same tomorrow and just keep focusing on what I need to and obviously just have fun because it’s only the first week of the swing. So either way, I think I’m going to enjoy it as much as I can.”

Angurasaranee gets underway in the final round of the Ford Women’s NSW Open on Sunday at 12:03 local time.
