The English quartet of Mimi Rhodes, Cara Gainer, Annabell Fuller, and Hannah Screen are excited for a week on home soil at the PIF London Championship.
Centurion Club in Hertfordshire is hosting the PIF London Championship for the fifth consecutive year with the tournament taking place between 8-10 August.
Two competitions are happening alongside one another with a 36-hole Team competition and a 54-hole Individual stroke play, with a cut to the top 60 professionals and ties after 36 holes.
A prize fund of USD $2,000,000 is up for grabs with it split $500,000 for the Team competition and $1,500,000 for the Individual competition.
Ladies European Tour (LET) Order of Merit leader Rhodes, who has won three LET titles so far this season, comes into this week off the back of a T19 performance at the AIG Women’s Open.
“I’ve been having a lot of fun, and it’s gone by quickly,” said Rhodes. “I’ve really enjoyed the Majors so far and I’m just trying to gain as much experience as I can in my first year. I’m really happy with how it’s gone.
“It’s more about following the wins than thinking about the Order of Merit. I’m treating every tournament like a normal one and trying not to put too much pressure on myself — which is something I’ve done in the past. I don’t feel much pressure.
“Last week was incredible — a week I’ll never forget. Having so much family there, cheering me on even when I just hit a fairway, meant a lot. I went into it with no pressure on myself, just wanting to enjoy the week. My goal was to make the cut and climb the leaderboard as much as I could.”
Rhodes picked Scotland’s Lorna Mcclymont to be part of her team, and they will be joined by Norway’s Dorthea Forbrigd and France’s Adela Cernousek.
She added: “[Lorna and I] got on really well at the Curtis Cup and played together in the four-ball. She’s calm and relaxed out there, and that really helps steady things. We have good conversations on course too. I’m excited to spend a few days with Lorna.”
England’s Screen has been a member at Centurion for the past few years and has been looking forward to this event all year.
“It’s definitely a bit surreal seeing all the infrastructure around,” said Screen. “I was saying to someone the other day — it’s hard to fully lock in when you’re picking your clothes from your wardrobe instead of a suitcase! I’m really looking forward to the week.
“I’ve been a member for about three years, but it’s been great to have this place to practice during my short pro career. Knowing there’s a tournament here and being able to prepare off the championship tees is a huge bonus.”
England’s Fuller, who is in her second year on Tour, finished in third place at the 2025 PIF Saudi Ladies International earlier in the season.
Fuller picked Screen to be part of her team this week and the duo will also be joined by Northern Ireland’s Annabel Wilson and Austria’s Sarah Schober.
“It’s been consistent all year — nothing too dramatic, but playing week in, week out,” said Fuller. “It’s nice to be back at home this week, and I’m looking forward to playing with Hannah. I’ve been staying at home but will stay closer to the course for the next couple of nights.
“Aside from the fact she’s a great golfer, we’ve played a lot together and always have fun. Enjoying myself on the golf course is really important to me, and because we get on so well — and she was one of the top players to pick — it was an easy decision.”
England’s Gainer won the LET season-opener – the Lalla Meryem Cup – and sits fourth in the LET Order of Merit heading into this event.
The 29-year-old picked Ireland’s Anna Foster to be part of her team and they will be joined by Finland’s Noora Komulainen and Italy’s Virginia Elena Carta.
“I’m pretty happy with how things have gone so far,” said Gainer. “I’m sitting fourth in the rankings and trying to chase Mimi down! I’m just looking to keep the momentum going and enjoying my golf. It’s also really special to be playing at home this week in front of a home crowd.
“I’m staying at home this week, which is a luxury. It’s a bit further than I’d like to drive, but it makes everything feel more relaxed. You’re a bit less stressed when you’re in your own environment.
“I really like Anna. She’s down to earth, really relaxed, and hits a great ball. Hannah wasn’t available — otherwise I would’ve picked her too! But I was looking for someone I’d enjoy spending three days with on a great course, and Anna was perfect for that.”
