The Ladies European Tour (LET) heads to Ireland for the 14th event of the 2025 schedule, which is the 2025 KPMG Women’s Irish Open.
Carton House, A Fairmont Managed Hotel is the venue for the second consecutive year where the field of 132 players will take on the O’Meara Course.
Before the tournament begins, here are five storylines for the week ahead…
Dimmock excited for next chapter
Annabel Dimmock won her second LET title at the 2024 KPMG Women’s Irish Open defeating France’s Pauline Roussin-Bouchard in a playoff at Carton House. The English star had been on the road back from serious injury which culminated in her tense victory.
However, Dimmock will not be defending her title at this year’s tournament as she six months pregnant with her first child. The two-time LET will still be attending over the weekend as a spectator alongside her mum.
Solheim Cup stars aplenty
It’s a stellar field vying for the 2025 KPMG Women’s Irish Open crown this week with plenty of Solheim Cup stars in attendance. Five members of the 2024 European Solheim Cup Team will be teeing it up in the 72-hole stroke play competition.
English duo Charley Hull and Georgia Hall are joined by Ireland’s Leona Maguire in the field. Swedish star Madelene Sagström will be teeing it up in Ireland for the first time and she is also alongside 2026 European Solheim Cup captain Anna Nordqvist.
Record-breaking Irish representation
It is a record-breaking week for the Irish talent on show at the tournament with 16 players from Ireland teeing it up on home soil. There are 12 players flying the Irish flag and four representing Northern Ireland.
Maguire – the first Irish winner on the LET – leads the home charge this week and she is also joined Olivia Mehaffey, Lauren Walsh, LET rookies Anna Foster, Sara Byrne, Annabel Wilson and Canice Screene, as well as nine amateurs.

AIG Women’s Open places on the line
There is a lot to play for this week in Ireland with places at the 2025 AIG Women’s Open up for grabs. LET tournament winners from the 2025 season have already clinched their spot, as have the top 15 LET players from the 2024 LET Order of Merit standings.
However, there are places on the line as the top five players, not already exempt from the 2025 LET Order of Merit rankings, as of Monday 7 July will secure their spot this week.
As it stands, the five places in the Order of Merit will be Germany’s Helen Briem (1,219.45), India’s Diksha Dagar (822.75), Ireland’s Lauren Walsh (750.86), France’s Nastasia Nadaud (722.84) and Spain’s Luna Sobron Galmes (709.73)
But there are plenty of players with the opportunity to move up the rankings with Amelia Garvey just one spot out and needing a top-eight finish. Italy’s Alessandra Fanali and USA’s Brianna Navarrosa would need top five finishes to leapfrog into the final spot.
Charity initiatives at the forefront
The KPMG Women’s Irish Open is highlighting lots of charity initiatives on site at Carton House with Pink Friday back again. Players, caddies, staff and spectators are encouraged to wear pink in support of the National Breast Cancer Research Institute.
Meanwhile, KPMG’s campaign Books for Birdies is back again for 2025 where every birdie scored at the 2025 KPMG Women’s Irish Open at Carton House, a Fairmont Managed Hotel, along with every birdie that Leona Maguire and her fellow Irish Professional golfers achieve from May 1, KPMG pledges to donate a children’s book to local schools.
