This week Anna Huang will be the youngest professional in the field at the 2025 U.S. Women’s Open Presented by Ally.
At the tender age of 16, Huang is playing her rookie season on the Ladies European Tour (LET) having secured status at Lalla Aicha Q-School in December while still an amateur.
The Canadian finished in a share of ninth place in the Pre-Qualifier at Rotana before ending up in a tie for 29th place at the Final Qualifier.
Huang turned professional at the start of 2025 and has embarked on a full season on the LET having played six events so far this season.
“My first year on the LET has been really fun,” she said. “I have enjoyed the travel and the competition out here is also really great. I love travelling so that’s been pretty fun and I have also made a lot of new friends on Tour.”
The teenager’s best result of the season came at the Joburg Ladies Open where she finished in T11 and currently sits 10th in the Rookie of the Year standings with 176.60 points.
Huang will be making her major debut this week at Erin Hills in Wisconsin having finished second in the qualifier held at New Albany Country Club in Ohio.
“It’s going to be my first major, so I’m just really excited to be there,” she continued. “At qualifying, honestly it just felt relieving to finally finish the putt on 18. All the stress went away once it was over.
“It’s my first time going to Erin Hills and I’m really excited to see my family and coaches again; I haven’t seen them in a while so it will be pretty fun to be with everyone.”

The LET rookie had good preparation at last week’s Jabra Ladies Open where she played at Evian Resort Golf Club – the host venue of the Amundi Evian Championship.
Huang ended the week in T32 after rounds of 73-72-69 around the challenging course in France, but believes she was able to dial in her irons ahead of this week’s major championship.
“Evian was pretty challenging,” she said. “You’ve really got to hit it in the right spots, but the greens are nice, and the fairways are so pure. As long as you hit it in the fairways, you should be good.
“I’ve definitely got my irons a lot sharper these past two days, so hopefully I can bring that into the U.S. Women’s Open next week.”
