It’s a trip to Italy for an abundance of Ladies European Tour (LET) stars this week as the U.S. Women’s Open Qualifier takes place at Golf Club Ambrosiano in Milan.
One of 26 qualifiers for the prestigious tournament, and the only in Europe, 60 players will tee up in the 36 hole event on April 29th with two spots up for grabs.
The field is comprised of 44 professionals, including 31 LET players, as well as 16 amateur players.
Notable names taking to the fairways in Milan include LET winners Bronte Law, Pia Babnik – a qualifier last year – Marta Martin, Kristyna Napoleaova and Klara Davidson Spilkova. They are joined by Olympians Alessandra Fanali, Sara Kouskova, Kim Metraux and Maha Haddioui.
Action gets underway on Tuesday morning at 7:15am local time. The second round will then take place in the afternoon, with the same groupings.
After 36 holes – or more if a playoff is required – the top two players will earn a spot in the field for the 80th U.S. Women’s Open. The second Major of the year takes place at Erin Hills in Erin, Wisconsin between May 26 – June 1.
Golf Club Ambrosiano, located 40 miles south of Milan, is a par 72 playing 6312 yards.
