The Ladies European Tour (LET) 2025 season officially kicks off this week in Morocco for the Lalla Meryem Cup, taking place February 6-8.
The tournament is back for its 28th edition at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam (Blue Course) and will once again see the field compete for a €450,000 prize fund.
This marks the first of 30 events on the LET in 2025, where the season will travel to five continents and have a total prize fund of €39 million.
The stacked 108-player field is made up of 11 invites and 97 LET players including two LET Order of Merit winners, Switzerland’s Chiara Tamburlini (2024) and Thailand’s Trichat Cheenglab (2023).
This week will see 11 tournament invitations including Mexican star and LPGA player Maria Fassi, who finished T3 in 2024, and Portuguese amateur Ines Belchior.
There are players from 34 nationalities including five Moroccan’s set to play on home soil; Ines Laklalech, who carried her nation’s flag at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Maha Haddioui, Lina Belmati, Malak Bouraeda, and 15-year-old Sofia Cherif Essakali, who is the youngest player in the field.
20 rookies will be competing in this week’s season opener including Ecuador’s first LET member Daniela Darquea who secured a one-stroke victory at Lalla Aicha Q-School in December, and 16-year-old Anna Huang from Canada. Anna had five Top 10 finishes in 2024, including securing T2 in The Glencoe Invitational, Nike Junior Invitational and Mizuho Americas Open.
The field also features past champions Klara Davidson Spilkova (2017), Nuria Iturrioz (2016, 2019), and England’s Bronte Law (2024), who will return to defend her crown.
The field competing this week contains 32 tour winners who have a combined total of 57 wins between them.
Alongside the Lalla Meryem Cup will be the Hassan II Trophy, taking place on the Red Course, as part of the PGA Champions Tour 2025 season. This year’s competition includes South Africa’s Ernie Els, Scotland’s Colin Montgomerie, America’s Tom Lehman and Spain’s Jose Maria Olazabal.
