FINNE-IPSEN LOOKING FORWARD TO 2025 AFTER FANTASTIC FINISH AT Q-SCHOOL

Cecilie Finne-Ipsen

Cecilie Finne-Ipsen fired an exceptional final round of 63 (-10) in the final round of Lalla Aicha Q-School at Al Maaden to secure her full Ladies European Tour (LET) card for 2025.

The Danish player produced rounds of 69-72-69-75 over the first four days to sit in a share of 26th place.

However, with the top 20 and ties receiving Category 12 status for 2025, Finne-Ipsen knew she needed a good final round.

The 26-year-old went bogey-free on the final day rolling in five birdies in a row on holes 12 through 16.

She added further birdies on the 18th, fourth, fifth, eighth and ninth holes to seal her best-ever round.

“It’s surreal! I was super nervous when I first started out this morning but a good putt on my third hole got the ball rolling and then I just tried to focus on every single shot,” she said.

“It’s not over until the last putt is down and I kept that feeling going and somehow ended up with 10-under which is absolutely amazing, I can’t even describe it.

“It is my best-ever round, before it was eight-under so now it’s two shots better – it’s going to be a hard one to beat moving forward!”

Finne-Ipsen had LET status in 2024 after finishing in T45 at Lalla Aicha Q-School the previous year with her best result of the year being T23 at La Sella Open.

The Dane headed back to Q-School and finished in seventh place at the Pre-Qualifier at Noria Golf, and then earned Category 12 status for 2025 with a T8 finish in Morocco.

She continued: “I played the Pre-Qualifier as well, so it’s been a very long two weeks but just trying to get as much rest after the rounds and do my thing.

“I went to the pool every evening, it’s not cold enough but I think it does something to get my legs loose – I hope that helped. I’m a little superstitious, so I kept doing it.

“It’s amazing! I had Category 16 status last year, so getting my full card for 2025 is great and I can’t wait to be able to compete in all the events and not just half of them.

“The Aramco events are going to be fun to compete but I’m looking forward to playing the full schedule and be able to plan ahead.“
