The Ladies European Tour (LET) is in Zurich this week as our stars tee up for the 14th edition of the VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open.
A field of 131 players from 33 nations will be competing in a 54-hole stroke play competition with a cut to the top 60 professionals and ties after the second round.
The field at Golfpark Holzhäusern is made up of 11 invites alongside 122 LET players from several different categories.
The winner from 2023, Alexandra Försterling, is sadly not in the field to defend her crown as the German continues to thrive on the LPGA. Past champions Liz Young (2022), Lee-Anne Pace (2010) and Marianne Skarpnord (2009) are all in town.
Two winners from the 2024 LET season will be vying to add another title with to their names with home favourite Chiara Tamburlini and England’s Amy Taylor – competing in her first event since winning the Italian Ladies Open – both present in Switzerland.
Tamburlini – leading the Rookie of the Year race – is her country’s highest ranked player from the Rolex Women’s World Rankings competing this week (World No 159).
She is joined by 13 other Swiss players including lefty Kim Metraux, LETAS graduate Elena Moosmann, and PING Junior Solheim Cup (PJSC) winner Yana Beeli.
Alongside the latter rising star from Switzerland, eight other amateurs come in as invitees. This group includes another PJSC winner, Nora Sundberg from Sweden, as well as 15-year-old Sofia Cherif Essakali from Morocco.
Rookies are also plentiful with 18 first year graduates in the field at Golfpark Holzhäusern. Finally, there are no fewer than 27 LET winners teeing up with a combined 60 wins on the circuit.
The 2024 VP Bank Swiss Ladies Open gets underway on Friday morning. The full entry list can be found here.
