The Ladies European Tour (LET) moves onto Saudi Arabia this week for the Aramco Saudi Ladies International Presented by PIF from February 15-18.
It’s the first time the event is being held at Riyadh Golf Club and will once again see the field compete for $5m USD prize purse that is equal to the men’s equivalent.
A field of 120 players will tee it up in a 72-hole stroke play competition, while there will be a cut to the top 60 professionals and ties after 36 holes.
It is a stacked field that is made up of 10 invites, 60 LET players and 50 players from the top 300 in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings.
A total of seven LET Order of Merit champions will be teeing it up with Trichat Cheenglab (2023), Linn Grant (2022), Emily Kristine Pedersen (2020), Esther Henseleit (2019), Georgia Hall (2017,2018), Charley Hull (2014) and Carlota Ciganda (2012).
There are players from 31 nations including the history-making Shannon Tan from Singapore, who won last week’s Magical Kenya Ladies Open.
Six rookies will be competing in the Saudi capital with Tan joined by Annabell Fuller, Nataliya Guseva, Alexa Pano, Jung Min Hong and Chiara Tamburlini.
Both Tan and Tamburlini secured entry into the Aramco Saudi Ladies International by finishing in the top 10 in Kenya.
England’s Hull is the top-ranked player in the field as she sits eighth in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings.
There are two former champions in the field with Denmark’s Pedersen, who won the inaugural event in 2020, and England’s Hall, who won in 2022.
Seven Major champions will also be vying for the title with Ashleigh Buhai, Yuka Saso, Patty Tavatanakit, Ariya Jutanugarn, Hall, Lexi Thompson and Jiyai Shin all teeing it up.
While the field competing this week also contains 54 Tour winners who have a combined total of 119 wins between them.
