The 2023 Ladies European Tour (LET) season is now in full swing with six events in the history books.
This means the 2023 Race to Costa del Sol – the season-long competition to crown the LET’s number one player – is starting to take shape, with several stars entering the fray after the latest events in South Africa and Singapore.
Following a magnificent start to the season, India’s Aditi Ashok has maintained her position at the top of the standings.
Ashok has not competed since finishing runner-up at the Aramco Saudi Ladies International, but with 1,210.00 points the Magical Kenya Ladies Open winner is yet to be caught in the rankings.
Closing the gap in second is Spain’s Ana Peláez Triviño. After placing fifth at the Lalla Meryem Cup, the 24-year-old recorded back to back runner-up finishes at the Joburg Ladies Open and Investec South African Women’s Open to collect 595.00 points.
A T28 finish at the Aramco Team Series – Singapore then took Triviño’s tally to 777.33 points as she zones in on Ashok.
Behind her are the victors of the past three LET events. In third is France’s Pauline Roussin on 569.00 points after she stormed to victory in Singapore.
Just behind her is South Africa’s Ashleigh Buhai on 545.19 points. Like Roussin, the major winner collected 500.00 points after cruising to victory at the Investec South African Women’s Open.
Completing our trio of March winners is England’s Lily May Humphreys on 532.00 points. In just her first start of the season, the 2021 LETAS Order of Merit winner came from behind to win the Joburg Ladies Open and collect 500.00 points.
Several stars then make up the rest of the top 10. Having not missed a cut in all six events, England’s Alice Hewson is sixth on 513.83 points.
After winning her only start at the Lalla Meryem Cup, Sweden’s Maja Stark has now dropped to seventh on 500.00 points.
Just behind her is fellow Swede Linn Grant. Last year’s Race to Costa Del Sol winner took her tally to 468.33 points after finishing T7 in Singapore.
In ninth is Germany’s Chiara Noja on 456.25 points, a total boosted by a T2 finish at the Investec South African Women’s Open.
Completing the top 10 is Belgium’s Manon De Roey who has 444.63 points from four events. The full standings can be found here.
While there is plenty still to play for, a reminder that following the conclusion of the 2023 season, the top 10 in the Race to Costa del Sol have the opportunity to go to the final stage of LPGA Q-Series.
