Emily Kristine Pedersen added to her trophy cabinet this week with victory in the inaugural LET Break Par Challenge Powered by Golf Saudi, winning €5,000 to donate to a charity close to her heart, the ‘Pink Cup Breast Cancer Foundation’.
The big-hitting Dane has been in sizzling form all year, winning an impressive five LET tournaments and breaking par no less than 26 times from 42 rounds. Accumulating an astonishing 13 eagles in the process – more than double her nearest challenger – the 24-year-old was awarded 65 points for her efforts and combined with an unrivalled birdie tally of 158, she triumphed at the top of the leaderboard by a mammoth 54 points.
Not even an albatross from Manon de Roey in Czech Republic (worth 40 points) and hole-in-one from four different players could stop her and as a result of the victory, Pedersen will donate €5,000 to the ‘Pink Cup Breast Cancer Foundation’, for which she is an ambassador.
Speaking about the achievement, Pedersen said, “I’m delighted to have won this challenge. It has been exciting for me to try and make birdies and eagles to win points throughout the season and I am proud to be able to make positive change for the ‘Pink Cup Breast Cancer Foundation’ as a result of my play. It is always fun to shoot under par but having this new challenge to think about and seeing the leaderboard each week has been something I have had my eye on and I am extremely pleased to win the award and donate money to them.”
